Our Star-Spangled Cleanup is a new annual event that takes place the day after Independence Day on the beaches of the Mississippi Gulf Coast! This event started in 2017 on the beaches of Harrison County, and will expand into Jackson County for the 2019 event. With growing interest and donations from our wonderful sponsors, we hope to expand this event into Hancock County in 2020!
This event is structured just like our annual October event. There are currently 13 different cleanup sites (see map above) volunteers can pick from during the registration process. Each site has a designated Site Captain who will be there to sign-in and gear up volunteers with everything needed for the cleanup (gloves, bags, data cards, etc.). Registration for the event is online and typically opens a few months prior to the event and will remain open until the day of the event. Volunteers can sign-up solo or as a group. The event is kid and family friendly, and we encourage anyone and everyone to join!
